411God Procedures FAQ

1. I’ve already signed up for 411God. Why did I get a message telling me to sign up again?

a. We have upgraded our account management services. 411God users will now be able to access their account settings and easily make changes. Because we now require 411God users to create an account (with a user name and password), all existing members will need to sign up again.

2. What will happen if I don’t create a new account?

a. All 411God users who signed up for 411God prior to Monday, January 19, 2009 will need to create a new 411God account. This sign-up period will last all week until Friday, January 23, 2009.

411God users who have not signed up with a new 411God account by this time will be erased from our database. Therefore, it is imperative that you create your new account right away and not procrastinate!

c. Have you created your account yet?

d. How about now?

e. Now?
f. Good!

3. I’m under 13, why can’t I sign up?

a. Sorry. If you are under the age of 13, we can not allow you to sign up for 411GOD. (See our Privacy Policy for more information.) We do not collect and keep any personal information online from you unless you are 13 or older

The Center for Bible Engagement, Back to the Bible and 411GOD are committed to complying fully with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). We urge children over the age of 13 to check with their parents before entering information on any Web site and we urge parents to discuss with their children restrictions regarding the online release of personal information to anyone they don’t know. We do not knowingly collect and keep personal information on-line from children under the age of 13. By completing our signup form, you are attesting to being over the age of 13 and have given us permission to communicate with you, until you specifically request otherwise."

4. How can I sign up for 411God?

a. I’m glad you asked!
b. On the main page, click on the “My Account” tab. Then, click on “Create New Account” on the login page.

5. Why do I need a user name and password to access my account now?

a. The 411God account allows users to access and make changes to their personal settings.

During our test phase, users had no access to their personal settings. They could only make changes by filling out the signup form again.

c. Yeah, a bit confusing. That’s why we changed it.

d. Not to get too much on a rabbit trail, but the test phase lasted from January 21, 2008, to January 19, 2009. If you signed up during that time, thank you so much for telling your friends about 411God and helping us make 411God what it is.

6. What’s a “rabbit trail”?

a. A rabbit trail is a… hey wait!

7. Can I sign up for both voice calls and e-mails?

a. Yes. It is possible to sign up for both. Simply check both boxes on the signup form.

Your calls will come at the time you schedule, and emails go out each night around midnight.

8. What is the “Group” option?

a. This is our way of identifying how 411God users find 411God.

If you see a group you are associated with in the drop down menu, select that.

c. If none applies, select “other” as your group.

9. Can I sign up my friends for 411God?

a. No!

10. How about my family members?

a. No!

11. Why not?

a. Because.

12. No really. Why not? Why can’t I sign up others for 411God?

a. Knowingly submitting a telephone number or email address other than your own may violate federal or state privacy, fraud, harassment, or telephone consumer protection laws. Any legal action that results from submitting a third party’s number without their prior consent will fall to the person(s) who submitted the information.

Though you can’t sign up your friends for 411God, feel free to tell them about our Web site, or forward on the daily emails.

c. (Besides, how annoying would it be if started receiving calls from some service you never signed up for!)

13. I’d like to donate to 411God. Is there a way to do that?

a. Absolutely, and we do appreciate it!

Visit our donation page to find out how.

Your friends will need a phone and/or e-mail account to receive 411God though. But you knew that.

15. Can I sign up to have my call come at, say, 4:30 or, 7:45?
